Dec 2009 – Decluttering Newsletter

Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year to you and your loved ones. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and look forward to a brand new year with enthusiasm and joy.

Don’t forget my Special Offer

End the year on a high note, feeling organised, enthusiastic and looking forward to a brand new year. If you would like to dedicate some time to decluttering and organising your homes, or offices I’m offering you a 20% discount for any of my services during December and January – contact me soon if you’d like to take advantage of this offer. Trust me, this would make a difference to how you start 2010.

My Tip for December – Easing your way into Christmas…

I find the best way to ‘declutter’ our minds and ease the stress is to be prepared. Yes, that means being organised and task oriented, it’s so worthwhile and not at all difficult once you get started. For example, by taking time out with a pen and paper, and your diary, you can plan the next few weeks so there’s no stress, or frantic last minute ‘to the wire’ running around.

Here’s what I suggest:

  • Find an uninterrupted hour in your day, or evening – and this may be alone or with your partner who’s going to be sharing the activities.
  • Take the pen and paper and start writing – bullet point every task which needs to fulfilled within the allotted time period [say to Boxing Day].
  • Beside each task decide who is going to do what, if you’re sharing activities, and when each task needs to be completed – if you have teenage children, ask them if they’ll help with some of the tasks, or perhaps they can take over the chores for you while you do the Christmas shopping.
  • Again, beside each task, put an estimate on how long you think it will take you to do it.
  • Now you’re ready to open your diary and start slotting in each activity which needs to take place, block out the time for each action in your diary – and try to stick to it.

What is new at Gioia

As we diversify and expand our businesses it’s vital that we continually review our marketing material, which of course includes our website. I’ve enjoyed rewriting my website over the last couple of weeks, and have given it a completely new look and feel. My services now include business packages, decluttering and organising for the home, and personal services such as mentoring and wardrobe makeovers. I’d love to hear what you think.

In Joy!
